How a Custom Engagement Ring Comes to Life

1. The conversation

We start by asking about her, not about carats. How does she dress? Does she work with her hands? Is there a family piece she already wears every day? Those answers shape the metal, the profile of the band and how high the center stone should sit.

Bring anything you have: a screenshot, a photo of a grandmother's ring, a rough sketch on the back of a receipt. There is no minimum and no pressure, and the first appointment costs nothing.

2. The sketch and the quote

Isy sketches the design in front of you and adjusts it while you watch. Once the shape feels right, we price it honestly — stone, metal, labor — so you know the number before anything is made.

If the budget needs to move, we show you where: a slightly smaller center stone, a different diamond grade, or lab-grown instead of natural. Nothing is hidden behind a markup you can't see.

3. Choosing the diamond

We source both natural and lab-grown diamonds and put them side by side under the loupe so you can see the difference for yourself. Certificates are explained in plain language — cut first, because cut is what makes a stone come alive.

4. At the bench

The ring is cast, filed, set and polished in Odessa. You get photos as it progresses, and you are welcome to stop in and see it half-finished. Most custom rings take two to four weeks depending on the stone.

5. The handoff

Your ring is cleaned, inspected and boxed the way it deserves. We size it, show you how to care for it, and you keep free cleaning and inspection for life.
